GTA 6 release date, platforms and PC: what's confirmed

When does GTA 6 come out?

GTA 6 comes out on Thursday, November 19, 2026. That is the console launch date set by Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive.

The date has moved twice. Rockstar first targeted fall 2025, then announced May 26, 2026, and later settled on November 19, 2026. Both delays were announced well ahead of time, so if the date shifts again, this page changes the same day.

Which platforms is GTA 6 on?

At launch, GTA 6 is a current-generation console game. It is announced for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. PS5 Pro owners play the PS5 version.

There is no PS4 or Xbox One version. If you are still on last-generation hardware, launch is the moment to upgrade or plan around it.

Is GTA 6 coming to PC?

Rockstar has not announced a PC version or a PC date. History is the best guide: GTA V reached PC in April 2015, about a year and a half after it first launched on consoles, and Red Dead Redemption 2 arrived on PC about a year after its console release.

If you want to play GTA 6 this year, plan on a console copy.

What has Rockstar shown so far?

Officially, GTA 6 is set in the state of Leonida, a Florida-inspired setting that includes Vice City. The two leads shown in the trailers are Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval.

That is as far as this page goes. Six After Dark keeps story details out of headlines and summaries, so you can read every dispatch without losing a surprise.

What should you do before launch?

Clear storage, update your console, calibrate your display and set up spoiler filters. The launch day checklist walks through each step in order.
